Overview

Maum Market is a community-driven marketplace dedicated to supporting Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) small businesses, providing them with a platform to sell their products and gain media exposure. Open to all types of creative ventures, Maum brings together a diverse mix of Asian cultures. My goal in designing the branding was to celebrate this cultural richness and create an inclusive, welcoming experience for everyone attending the event.

How did I create my design solutions?

Logo

The logo design for Maum Market is crafted to feel friendly and playful, reflecting the market's warm and inviting atmosphere. The wordmark features a modified typeface, carefully adjusted for readability at smaller sizes. In the logo, the "m" is rotated and repeated, symbolizing the connectivity and community spirit of the market.

Brand Color Palette

The color palette draws inspiration from a variety of AAPI communities, reflecting the vibrancy of traditional Vietnamese dresses, Tongan celebratory attire, and more. These colors are chosen to capture the lively essence of each culture, bringing warmth and energy to the design.

Typography

Carefully selected typography anchors the visual identity, complementing the vibrant color palette, illustrations, and photography. This cohesive type choice enhances the brand's personality and unifies all design elements.

Illustrations & Photos

Diverse icons and color-treated photos create a flexible design system, allowing elements to be used interchangeably across different formats. This adaptability strengthens brand cohesion while offering visual variety.
